At the recent Single Ply Roofing Association (SPRA) Awards Luncheon we were delighted to win the Sustainability Award with our Slough EFW Multifuel Powerplant project!
Given the nature of the building, its location and size, it really does represent sustainability in action. Its sole purpose is to produce energy from waste, generating up to 50MW of electricity and heat each year from burning waste-derived fuels made from various sources of commercial and industrial waste, and waste wood.
An IKO single ply membrane was specified to minimise unnecessary wastage on site and reduce the number of deliveries that were required. We also installed highly efficient thermal insulation to minimise heat loss from the building and ensure that the demanding U-value requirements were met in all areas
Well done to everyone involved in delivering this fantastic project!
