It was another successful occasion for MAC at this year’s LRWA Roofing Awards, held in Liverpool at the end of March. MAC were shortlisted in two categories and were delighted to be awarded the prestigious Sustainability Award with the 90 Long Acre redevelopment project in London.
The Sustainability Award was judged on five key themes: Reduced Environmental Impact, Beneficial Social Impacts, Product and System Innovation, Carbon Management and Reduction, and Responsible Supply Chain Practices. The redevelopment of 90 Long Acre retained over 80 per cent of the original structure, reducing embodied carbon by 50 per cent compared to a new build. It also featured both green and blue roof systems, and included careful monitoring of carbon emissions, waste, materials, and energy use throughout.
More than 420 people from across the liquid roofing and waterproofing sector attended the event including contractors, manufacturers and suppliers. The aim of the awards is to recognise the quality, professionalism and the finest workmanship and dedication in one of the fastest growing sectors of the UK roofing industry.
We’re very proud of this achievement and our thanks go to everyone involved in securing and delivering such a stand-out project!
